Andrea Rowe is a soulful singer with a pure, warm,
and extraordinarily powerful voice. Performing as a duo, she and her husband, Cheth,
play original, heartfelt blues, folk & rock, plus an eclectic mix of covers.
Andy, as her friends call her, has been compared to Bonnie Raitt and Joni Mitchell.
While on vocals, guitar or conga, she is accompanied by Cheth on piano, harmonica
and accordion. Their chemistry lends a uniquely united quality to a highly
enjoyable show.
PERFORMANCE HISTORY
Andrea's career began in her teen years as a
singer/songwriter for a Bay Area band. When her mother died
suddenly, Andrea took the blame, almost as a penance. Seven
years later she returned to music after being encouraged by
Cheth, a keyboard player, who she later married. In Seattle
she fronted a touring band for five years, but was not fulfilled.
She moved to Cannon Beach in 1987 and became involved
in musical theater, but the instinct to write and perform
her own music was too strong to ignore. Andrea has completed
the circle and is back to her true calling, songwriting
and singing from her soul -- for the cause.
QUICK PHILOSOPHY
"I didn't realize the risk involved when you
sing straight from your own experiences. It is a very vulnerable feeling.
My life has had some rocky roads, but I survived. I want people to know they
can create wonderful situations for themselves even out of the hardships of
life. I want my music to have a truly positive effect on everyone who hears it,
whether it inspires them, makes them dance or lets them cry."
